Haytor Hearts mud run for CRUK

Haytor Heart Netball Club, based in Devon, has raised a fantastic £1100 for Cancer Research UK this summer, by taking part in the Charity’s 5k ‘Pretty Muddy’ Race for Life event in Exeter.

The girls had fun climbing ropes, wading through mud tunnels and sliding into mud pools, whilst running the 5K and raising for a cause close to their hearts.

“Twelve of our members took part in the event, and cancer has sadly affected many of us in one way or another.” says Carla Faulkner who was racing in memory of her mum. “One of our ladies, Emma Buckman, who managed to raise half of the funds herself, is a survivor, and we are all extremely encouraged by her story and hope that through fundraising, we are helping in our own small way in the race to find a cure.”
