Each week we bring you a good news story from across the South West as part of our wedNEWSday articles.

The start of the university year has been and gone and for most students getting involved in a sport is what makes their university experience. University of Gloucestershire Netball Club have worked extremely hard to get a fantastic 111 girls signed up at the Fresher’s Fayre in September.

They were promoting England Netballs 16-21 social netball programme at the Fresher’s Fayre, in partnership with University of Gloucestershire Sport. They have two sessions running, a first at Gloucestershire university. One in Cheltenham and one at the new arena in Gloucestershire.

Their new fun sessions have been a huge success and seen a high number of girls getting involved in netball. They are also focussing their efforts on the ‘this girl can’ campaign which aims to get more girls actively involved in netball.
