The aim of this course is to improve C Award umpires current knowledge of the rules whilst improving their umpiring skills. Learners should also be able to identify the requirements for the Netball Europe B Award and prepare for the written assessment and practical pre-assessments, which are prerequisites to applying for the practical assessment.
Learning outcomes
- Explain the different level knowledge and skills between a Netball Europe C and B Award umpire
- Demonstrate how positioning, movement and vision impacts on an umpires performance
- Explain the meaning of advantage and how to apply it effectively
- Develop more effective communication skills through voice, whistle and hand signals
- Identify sources of help and support, locally and nationally
Course details
Numbers | Minimum of 10 and Maximum of 12 learners |
Duration | 6 hours with adequate refreshment breaks (Either 1 x 6 hours or 2 x 3 hour sessions) |
Facility requirements | Indoor Netball Court with sufficient space, classroom and a flipchart |
Learner requirements | Must have either 1 year’s experience as C Award umpire or have been talent identified, also must be affiliated to England Netball |
