The second NSW Games Conference was held on Sunday 11th June at the University of Exeter.

55 coaches and umpires attended the day to take part in sessions with Nationally and Internationally renowned deliverers such as:

·        National Academy Coach Denise Ellis

·        Performance Coach and National Selector Jean Davies

·        Team Bath Coach + Former England Coach Anna Stembridge

·        Team Bath Coach Jess Thirlby

·        Superleague Umpire James Thomas

·        Former International  Umpire Judith Groves

Club Coaches took part in two engaging  workshops on ‘How Conditioned Games can help your players become better decision makers’ and ‘Defence is all players responsibility’ delivered by Team Bath Coaches Anna and Jess.

Denise Ellis and Jean Davies led sessions on ‘How to develop Invasion Games and delivering the Netball principles’ then ‘How to prepare Athletes for intense ‘on court’ performance’ which was tailored to suit Satellite, County Academy and U16 Coaches.

Umpires attended a Rules Update session with Judith Groves and James Thomas before both Coaches and Umpires came together for the final session of the day which focused on a variety of in game scenarios.

Players for each of the sessions were sourced from SW NPL /NPFL as well as SW Regional and County Academy  Athletes. These players were extremely valuable in helping to bring each of the sessions ‘to life’.

Feedback from attendees has been really positive and NSW would like to say a special thank you to all of the deliverers and the NSW RMB members who helped to make the day such a success.

Plans for next year’s Conference are already underway so ‘watch this space’ for more details in the future!
