Each week we bring you a good news story from across the South West as part of our wedNEWSday articles.

With Christmas yet again looking like it won’t be the usual celebrations, a Gloucestershire based netball club began thinking about how they could engage members and share the festive netball spirit.

United Netball came up with the idea to share something on each of the 25 days of Christmas and use social media for good. Each day, a post would go out with useful netball information, facts about the game, tips on self-care or sharing the new England Netball strategy. Thanks to Social Media Officer Cat, the club has increased its followers on all 3 social media sites (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), which is helping them find new players and stay engaged with friends and family all around the world.

If you want to see the tips that United have been sharing, then please go to one of their channels:

The club is based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and has 2 teams currently competing in the county league. As a club they aim to have a friendly approach with a competitive edge. Feel free to get in touch if you’re interested in joining them, they are currently welcoming new players!
