Pewsey Netball Club are Heading to Africa!

Each week we bring you a good news story from across the South West as part of our wedNEWSday articles.

Thank you Emily for the update on how members of Pewsey Netball Club are keeping connected with their members, read what they have been up to:

Throughout this third lockdown Pewsey Netball Club have packed their bags and headed off to Cape Town (the home of the next Netball World Cup) in South Africa, (virtually for now of course!) During this third lockdown our team of 29 ladies are aiming to walk, run, cycle, spin, swim etc. our way through the 8282 miles to Cape Town.

Hitting week 10 means another week and another country. This past week we’ve travelled 963.5 miles meaning we’ve arrived in Sukses in Namibia. Our grand total now sits at a whopping 7413.25 miles! With just 969 miles to go…. can we complete our challenge a week early?! Cape Town, we’re so close now!

This is all in aid of Julia’s House Children’s Hospice. We had planned a number of fundraising events but due to COVID they’ve all sadly been postponed. Julia’s House provides frequent, flexible care for children with life-limited or life-threatening conditions to give their parents a much needed break.

Your kind sponsorship will make a life changing difference to these families.
