Over the past couple of weeks the Net10 for Life campaign in partnership with Cancer Research has taken place across the Country.Many clubs across the South West have taken part and currently raised £1,253.62 which is the highest total across the other England Netball Regions. Clubs took part in netball activity such as a donation per goal, having a tournament between seniors and juniors and even a bake sale.
On Monday 8th October Bournemouth Netball Club began their Net10 for Life Challenge to see how many goals they could get in two minutes. Jackie Berry, club chairman set the goal at 15, challenging the rest of the club to beat her, and pledge a donation per goal. During the training night all the juniors had the opportunity to take part, along with their parents and there was even a Grandad who had a go! All the players enjoyed it, and the challenge was won by one of the Under 16 players, Maria Thompson who was working with the Under 9’s and managed 36 goals! The adult club members took over after that and pledged per goal during their week night fixtures, taking the club total to £486.00.
‘We have loved taking part in the challenge, it has been uniting as a club, and a wonderful opportunity to help Cancer Research UK’South West Dorset Netball League had a match night 11 Oct 2018 where they raised £145.00. Everyone had to wear something pink, there were pink tutus, pink legwarmers, neon pink face paint and even pink hair! While on the 18th October, Bude Netball Club had a senior tournament and inviting all juniors and seniors to wear something pink raising £256.00
