Each week we will be updating you on a good news story from the South West region as part of our new wedNEWSday articles. This week we have a success story from Devon but keep your eye out for more good news stories from across the SW.

Netball has bounced back in Devon

Newly formed Cranbrook Arrows NC (East Devon), hosted this year’s annual Devon Back to Netball Festival. Eight teams from across the county participated, equating to 72 women all of whom have either recently returned to, or taken up for netball for the first time.

The hosts provided refreshments for both the participants and the spectators and held a raffle on behalf of Cancer Research UK whereby they raised £110.  The overall winners of the Festival were Quayside Birds 2, with Cranbrook Arrows taking second place.

Our thanks to Leisure (East Devon) Outreach Manager, Lottie Edwards, who sponsored the court hire for the Festival, and East Devon County Netball Association for providing both umpires and the trophy.
