SOUTH WEST ONE AWARDS 2023

Posted July 12, 2023 by Poppy O'Reilly

Each week we bring you a good news story from across the South West as part of our WedNEWSday articles.

This year the South West ONE Awards took place on Sunday 2nd July at Tortworth Court, Gloucestershire. Hosted by Claire Carter (BBC Somerset Senior Presenter) and with 115 guests in attendance it was an afternoon full of celebration and the joys of being able to come together to recognise the incredible work that is being done across the region to keep netball alive. Not to mention our special guest Serena Kersten MBE who concluded the event with a Q&A.

In support of England Netballs NETBALLHer initiative, flyers were available on each table for guests to take and covered topics such as periods, sports bras, menopause and pelvic floor. A caught short kit was also available in the toilets and posters with QR codes to access the NETBALLHer website were dotted around the room. In conjunction with this, Netball South West chose to give prizes alongside the certificates this year with a NETBALLHer theme, winners received either a Caught Short Kit, The Well HQ’s ‘The Female Body Bible’ book or a T-shirt.

Netball is in the heart of each and every one of the nominees which made it very difficult for the nomination panel to pick just one winner from each category. After much deliberation, we are thrilled to share with you the winners.

All of the winner’s nominations from the 9 regional ONE award events will be reviewed by a national panel.

Good luck to those representing the South West at the National Awards and thank you to the nominators for taking the time to nominate. Thank you also to everyone who joined us at Tortworth Court on Sunday 2nd July. Here’s to next year…
