Each week we bring you a good news story from across the South West as part of our wedNEWSday articles.
On Saturday 2nd September, Wellington School, Somerset, was once again abuzz with netball conversation! After the successful Game Conference in February, Netball South West (NSW) are continuing to support our thriving collective, this time focusing on our wonderful Walking Netball (WN) hosts.
NSW already provide funding for members to access Walking Netball Host Training but wanted to support the already qualified hosts in the South West who are delivering sessions across the region weekly.
The Host Collective Day provided an opportunity for hosts to come together and share ideas for sessions, have discussions over a cuppa about issues that arise, and find solutions by collaborating.
The day consisted of an activity session, where the hosts took part and learnt new games and ideas, a discussion session centred around making sessions brilliant, a match play session for hosts to have a go at umpiring in a relaxed, supported environment, and a rules basics session led by Karen Jones. Hosts were encouraged to swap contact information so that they could keep sharing and collaborating with each other after the event.
Everyone had a wonderful day and it was great to see so many hosts coming together, engaging with the day and supporting one another.
