Each week we bring you a good news story from across the South West as part of our wedNEWSday articles.
Last week Wiltshire Netball Committee members presented cheques for £6,000 to each of the 3 charities supported by the Women’s Health Festival that took place in May, Brighter Futures, Prospect Hospice, and Macmillan Cancer Support. The event raised £17,300 and amazing Paul Fell of Eames Laurie Financial Services kindly ‘rounded’ it up to £18,000 having already sponsored the festival.
Even more importantly the day has had a significant impact in raising awareness of women’s health. From the information and personal stories shared in the programme and on the day, we’ve been made aware that this has empowered women to go to the doctors with their concerns resulting in some cases of an important early diagnosis.
Wiltshire Netball would like to offer our thanks again for all our sponsors and volunteers who made the day happen.
