    On Saturday 18 October, hosted by Katharine Merry at the National Motorcycle Museum & National Conference Centre in Solihull, over 230 guests gathered to recognise and celebrate the contributions and achievements of some of England Netball’s incredible volunteers.

    The ONE Awards recognise the amazing people who volunteer and make netball happen with each winner of the regional ONE Awards progressing to become a National ONE Awards nominee.

    A huge congratulations to the following regional winners who represented the South West as nominees at the National ONE Awards:

    • Coach of the Year (Children and Young People) – Petra Finkenzeller
    • Coach of the Year (Adults) – Julie Dolling
    • Community Official of the Year – Sarah Lewis
    • Pioneer of the Year – Lesley Thomas
    • Inclusion Award – Trailblazers Walking Netball Club
    • Young Volunteer of the Year – Phoebe Lewis
    • Teacher of the Year – Hope Lushington
    • Contribution of the Year – Melanie Ayres
    • Unsung Hero of the Year – Denise Sell
    • Community Club of the Year – Tiverton Titans Netball Club

    Many congratulations to Linda Dyer, Gilly Salter and Lesley Thomas from the South West who were awarded England Netball Long Service Awards.

    Long Service Awards are awarded to individuals who have contributed 25 years of service at county, regional, national and international level, dedicating significant time across varying roles to improves the lives of netballers around them.

    Congratulations to all on an incredible and well deserved achievement.

    Designed to spark curiosity, break down stigmas and empower women and girls to ask questions about their female health and wellbeing openly and confidently, the I Wish I Knew campaign marks a new chapter in England Netball’s commitment through NETBALLHer to tackle the female health knowledge gap that impacts participation, performance and long-term engagement in sport.

    By sharing authentic stories from across the netball community, from grassroots to elite level, the campaign gives voice to the things women and girls wish they’d known sooner, opening conversations that are too often left unspoken.

We’re a huge community with over 17,000 members including players, dedicated coaches, officials and volunteers.     The Netball South West ONE Awards hosted by Claire Carter took place at Rumwell Farm Shop, Taunton on Saturday 28th June 2025.

    The annual event is a true highlight in the regional netball calendar, shining a well-deserved spotlight on the incredible individuals who make our beloved sport thrive across the South West.

    130 people attended to recognise and celebrate the achievements of over 80 volunteers who were nominated for this year’s awards. The celebratory afternoon consisted of a complimentary two-course meal for nominees and their guest, awards ceremony, guest speakers and fun photo booth!

    Netball South West ONE Awards 2025, Taunton.

    The ONE Awards were presented throughout the afternoon and the winners of each category were:
